Director of Developer Experience

Description
We are recruiting a Director of Developer Experience who will join our team to help us achieve these goals. In this role, you will own all the surfaces the developers touch when building and integrating FusionAuth - the SDKs, client libraries, documentation, and getting started guides. You'll be making and maintaining many of these resources yourself, and wrangling and reviewing items that the broader developer relations team, engineering teams, dev agencies, and the community creates. You will creatively use all your resources to create the best, frustration and stress-free experience for integrating developers. This position is remote, and reports to the Head of Developer Relations.
Responsibilities
- Own the experience developers have when integrating FusionAuth
- Create world-class developer resources including SDKs, client libraries, documentation, guides, example apps
- Review and edit work from colleagues, contractors, and outsourced dev shops to ensure high quality and consistent results
- Identify opportunities to create new resources to help developers
- Work with the broader developer relations, sales, and support teams to gather developer feedback
- Create and optimize cross-team processes to improve developer experience
- Follow industry trends and best practices to improve developer experience and increase efficiency
- Identify opportunities for the community to contribute and help improve our developer experience
Skills & Experience
Some things that describe what you do, and what you've done:
- Able to easily identify developer friction and know how to solve it
- A breadth of experience in modern software languages and development practices
- Experienced using data to drive your decisions and priorities
- 3+ years in a Developer Experience role (API platform team, or developer relations team could also work, depending on responsibilities)
- 10+ years technical experience
- Experience working in a distributed team
- Experience managing developer agencies
- Able to learn new tools and technologies
