Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Device Engineer I at DISH's Wireless Headquarters in Littleton, CO focuses on iOS device integration and validation testing for 5G compliance on DISH 5G and Partner MVNO Networks. Responsible for aligning iOS devices with DISH's vision for its 5G SA network, leveraging O-RAN and cloud-native core technologies. Ensure validated features and verified performance against quality assurance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test and configure new User Equipment (UE) for DISH's retail and wholesale MNO/MVNO channels consistently and efficiently
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of UE Technical Acceptance (TA's) to device OEMs
- Conduct testing on iOS devices in both lab and field environments
- Coordinate cross-functional teams for iOS Technical Acceptance (TA) deliveries
- Analyze device logs to identify and address root causes of issues, logging and tracking bugs as necessary
- Contribute to the development and improvement of automation systems and tools for task execution
- Communicate hardware/software requirements and test requirements for iOS devices to stakeholders, including Device OEMs, vendors, and internal engineering teams
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field required
- Minimum of 1 year experience working directly with major wireless mobility device OEMs and associated chipset providers, as well as RAN/CORE vendors
- 1+ years of experience in cellular product network certification and network-specific configurations, network features testing, and OSS/BSS integration
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical expertise in areas such as L2/L3 protocols, Carrier Aggregation, Dual-Connectivity, and E2E Call Flows
- Proficiency with IMS, SMS, MMS, Supplementary Calls, VoWiFi, and issue management systems like Jira
- Experience with iOS ecosystem, testing tools like QXDM, QCAT, PCAT, Accuver, and automation test environments
- Willingness to travel 20-30% of the time for validation, log collection, and debugging sessions
Salary Ranges
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year - $108,900.00/Year
