Our growing Experience Center of Excellence is looking for a passionate, driven individual who can help to transform the ways we work cross-functionally, promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement. We are looking to grow our team by adding a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) to support the delivery of Engagement programs and multi-channel campaigns designed to deliver personalized experiences, improve patient health outcomes, and drive business results.
This role works in an Agile environment supporting the Project Management Office of personalization and engagement-- and has responsibility to facilitate Agile development processes within our teams. The main scope of work for the CSM is to coach teams on Agile best practices, remove impediments, foster a collaborative and self-organizing environment, and drive continuous improvement of our Agile framework.
The ideal CSM will also have strong project management skills and the ability to work with many different frameworks of project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in supporting project management activities while delivering on their duties as a scrum master and agile coach. This candidate will also have strong knowledge and experience with implementing Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and the ability to influence and transform our ways of working.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Agile facilitation and coaching: 40% of time
- Guide and coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and self-organization
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies to improve our upfront planning process (Backlog Refinement, PI Planning, Roadmap/Strategy discussion, etc.)
- Ensure teams understand and follow the Agile principles while tailoring processes to fit their needs
- Actively identify and remove any blockers or obstacles that hinder the team's ability to meet their sprint goals.
Continuous Improvement and Agile adoption: 30% of time
- Promote a culture of learning and experimentation within teams
- Encourage teams to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Provide Agile training and mentorship to team members and stakeholders
- Facilitate retrospective ceremonies as appropriate and maintain learnings documentation
Project Management, Collaboration and communication: 20%
- Works closely with business and strategists to refine and manage backlog
- Ensures effective communication between teams, business, stakeholders, and leadership
- Tracks and reports Agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, etc.) to measure teams’ performance and process efficiency
- Supports project management activities as needs
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: 10% of time
- Holds/attends team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
- Knows, understands, and follows teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
- And other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other related graduate level degree a plus
- Certified Scrum Master (Preferred) or similar certification/education
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, or agile coach
- 1+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple Scrum team projects
- Strong knowledge and experience with implementing Agile methodologies
- Ability to build strong relationships across multiple lines of business
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership skills
- Demonstrated results in being able to think strategically, anticipate future trends, and incorporate them into both the short and long term
- Seamless ability to communicate with technical, marketing, and business teams
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency in Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, TargetProcess, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience working as a scrum master or agile coach in healthcare
- 3+ years of IT experience
- Demonstrated ability in obtaining results in a large corporate, heavily matrixed environment
- Understanding of the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
- Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
- Lean Methodology Certification(s)
- Experience with scaling Agile frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS.

Salary/ Wage Range
$100,000.00 - $147,000.00 / year
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
