Description
The Content Development Manager will be part of the GM Europe Training & Performance Coaching team.
As Content Development Manager you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining training content to update and enhance the knowledge, skills and competence levels of GM Europe's customer-facing employees and dealer partners. The role requires a strong understanding of the very latest instructional design and content development methodologies available.
Working in partnership with a variety of subject matter experts within GM Europe and GM North America , you will be responsible for creating and managing engaging, interactive and relevant training and coaching content to include, but not limited to, the following subject areas:
Employee and Dealer/Distributor Onboarding, Sales and Delivery Process Training, Sales Skills and Behaviour Training, Product Launch and Product Knowledge Training and Customer Experince (CX) Training. All training content developed will be utilised within offline, online and virtual learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain a wide range of training materials and content for GM Europe's customer-facing employees and Dealer Partners: most notably for Cadillac and Corvette.
  • Create multimedia-content designed for use in online, offline and and virtual learning environments.
  • Collaborate with GM Europe's Product Managers, Sales & Delivery teams, CX Team and and other cross-functional teams to gather insights and create content based on accurate, up-to-date feedback and developments.
  • Work closely with Global Instructional Designers to implement best practices regarding training content development, ensuring content is always accurate and engaging.
  • Regularly review and edit content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and alignment with GM's technical standards and organisational values.
  • Incorporate feedback from GM Europe's Customer Satisfaction metrics (NPS) to refine and enhance the effectiveness of training content to improve Customer Experience.
  • Ensure that training content is easily accessible to learners through GM's Learning Management System (LMS) or other digital platforms.
  • Leverage GM's Learning Management Systems (LMS), to publish, manage, and track the success and completion rates of training initiatives for both emploees and Dealer Partners.


Experience required:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in content development or instructional design ideally gained within the automotive or technology sectors.
  • Proven ability to design and develop training content for diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry, including latest product and technology trends and the automotive retail ecosystem.
  • Excellent ability to simplify complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively within training content and materials.
  • Experience with multimedia content creation, including video production and graphic design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to creating accurate and high-quality content at all times.
  • Creative thinker who can bring new ideas and innovative solutions to to the wider team.
