Location and Flexibility

This role will have the option to be in a Work From Near (Hybrid) capacity based out of one of our US offices OR in a Work From Anywhere (Remote) capacity with travel to clients and WillowTree offices expected. 

The Opportunity 

Focused on our Data and AI vertical, the Associate Principal, Business Development role in the Data & AI practice is responsible for leading relationships with key strategic accounts, and for cultivating relationships with key prospective accounts. This role will also drive the strategic direction of the Data & AI practice by supporting Go-To-Market activities through development of service and commercial strategies. The Associate Principal will ensure that all aspects of account work, from strategic development to execution, are exceeding client expectations.  

WillowTree’s Business Development team encompasses a range of skilled professionals that drive innovation and growth on the front lines of client engagement. As a team, we rally around three distinct areas in the client journey map: Prospecting, Pursuit, and Expansion. 

This role is a trusted advisor and an analytics, data and AI subject matter expert. You will help customers best leverage data to achieve their business objectives while also guiding the customer’s journey and technical solutioning. You will help customers evaluate their applications and business requirements, recommend technical solutions that meet their requirements and demonstrate these solutions to win the customer’s business and technical partnership.

Responsibilities

  • Full autonomy to execute and engage prospective clients paired with the opportunity to collaborate with our VPs of Business Development for development and career growth
  • Identify target accounts to optimize services and communicate WillowTree's capabilities to clients
  • Competently articulate the approach, product detail, and technical requirements to successfully implement technology solutions that drive business outcomes for clients
  • Collaborate with our Solutions Architects and Product teams to craft executive-level proposals, pitches, and SOWs for prospective and existing clients
  • Cultivate and extend existing C-level relationships with current clients
  • Team up with our delivery leadership to respond to opportunities and team-sell through RFP responses or other types of sales cycles
  • Advise WillowTree’s internal teams on industry and vendor trends to remain well-positioned to assist our clients
  • Support go-to-market initiatives for the Data & AI practice, defining service offerings, developing marketing campaigns, and pursuing partnerships with leading solution vendors

Competencies  

  • Experience selling and/or delivering solutions focused on Data-driven Insights and Modernization, Data and AI Strategy, Agentic AI and Automation, AI-driven Products and Applications, and AI-fueled Customer Experience
  • Experience in Data and/or AI custom services sales or consulting engaging with F5000-level client accounts
  • Experience in net-new client logo acquisition and/or cross-selling within existing client accounts
  • Proven knowledge in AI, Machine Learning, Machine Learning Ops, Data Engineering, and/or Data Science
  • Self-driven and intellectual curiosity about the Data & AI market and trends, specifically interested in the GenAI movement
  • Ability to identify and characterize business issues, while demonstrating a ‘nose for value’ to discern what is important
  • Maintains the capability to scope and plan underlying analyses that will yield critical answers to the questions at hand. Understand the required data to complete the analysis and procure them accordingly. Analyze data and translate findings into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively across all levels of an organization 
  • Experience in GenAI custom services sales or consulting preferred
  • Background in Data Engineering or Data Science preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration preferred

Annual Performance Bonus

This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on personal, division/business unit, and company performance. The range displayed is only the annual base salary. To maintain equity across the business, annual performance bonus targets are determined by job level, not individual circumstances.

Individual base salaries are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons determined during the interview process. Salary bands are periodically reviewed and updated based on market changes, internal needs, and industry trends. To maintain pay equity for team members, TELUS Digital conducts regular compensation audits.

Annual Base Salary Range (Performance Bonus Eligible)

$200,000$230,000 USD
