About the team + role

Robinhood is looking for a Director of Corporate Development to accelerate Robinhood’s strategic roadmap by identifying, vetting, and executing mergers, acquisitions, and a variety of other potential transactions. You will develop a detailed understanding of Robinhood’s strategic objectives and market landscape, working to identify high-potential acquisition opportunities across existing and future market verticals and geographies. You will help build out Robinhood’s network and develop relationships that may lead to acquisitions or strategic investments in the future. You will work closely with deal sponsors and cross-functional leaders across Robinhood on all aspects of M&A, including business case construction, valuation analysis, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, and deal execution. You will present acquisition opportunities to company leadership & the board of directors, facilitate key acquisition decisions, and provide post-acquisition performance updates. The ideal candidate is strategic, relationship-oriented, analytical, creative, and results-oriented.

We are also open to candidates at the Principal level for this role.

It is preferred that this role is located in one of the office locations listed on this job description which will align with our in-office working environment. This position is only eligible for remote work in limited geographies within the US where we do not have physical office locations. What you’ll do
  • Analyzing Robinhood’s strategic landscape, gathering competitive industry intelligence, developing the business case & rationale for key M&A opportunities, and advocating for them internally
  • Managing transactions from end-to-end, including sourcing, negotiating, diligencing, closing, and facilitating a seamless integration process.
  • Leading deal evaluation meetings, driving decision-making, and negotiating deals with objectivity, diplomacy, and effectiveness.
  • Cultivating external relationships that provide the opportunity for potential future acquisitions or investments
  • Building scalable processes and best practices for Robinhood’s Corporate Development functions
What you bring
  • 10+ years experience in investing (hedge fund, private equity, family office, venture capital), corporate development, or finance
  • A tendency to reason from first-principles, using data and analysis to draw conclusions
  • Familiarity with the fintech landscape
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Deep knowledge of digital/mobile business models and consumer technology
  • Resourceful, persistent and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and related tasks
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
