Responsible for driving the research and testing of award-winning, functional design across multiple media platforms within the cable TV industry from mobile and tablet applications to television and web interfaces; both customer and employee facing. Collaborates with user experience experts and product specialists to define the newest multimedia research and testing requirements for millions of customers as a member of a talented and fast-paced design team.
Responsible for building research proposals, executive pitch decks, staffing models and project plans to support new initiatives. Mentors team to define targeted research strategies and deliverables for discovery and delivery phase work. Manage team backlog, sprint priorities and workflows. Works with the Senior Director of Shared Services to develop annual outcomes, manage to capex and opex budgets, grow team operations and standards, hire, mentor and coach team, and support retention and growth.

As a Director o n this team... you'll be responsible for driving the research and testing of award-winning, functional design across multiple media platforms within the cable TV industry from mobile and tablet applications to television and web interfaces. Collaborates with user experience experts and product specialists to define the newest multimedia research and testing requirements for millions of customers as a member of a talented and fast-paced product team. Works to define a targeted research strategy including stakeholder interviews, surveys, card sorts, tree tests, and assessing current state competitive analysis, benchmarking and user data analysis. Works with the Director of Research to establish lean user testing processes during all design phases and analytic review post launch of all products.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of user research experience
    • 5+ years of experience leading and growing user research teams
    • 5+ years of related industry experience (Cable, Telecommunications, Software/Online Services
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
    • Prefer technical degree related to the telecommunications field or operational/process optimization
  • Technical skills:
    • Skills:
    • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Proven, motivated and energetic UX researcher and people leader
    • Possess empathy for users, knowledge of and passion for the entertainment industry
    • Aptitude and eagerness to learn from a new environment and make an impact quickly
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Ability to manage and foster change
    • Ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in order to achieve business goals and results
    • Ability to listen to multiple points of view and synthesize against goals for recommendations
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

The base pay for this position generally is between
$124,000.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
