At Builder.io, we’re at the forefront of transforming visual development, making it compatible with any tech stack and accessible to every team. Our mission is to empower our customers to achieve exceptional results with our innovative product offerings, technical integrations, and strategic initiatives.

We’re looking for a visionary Head of Visual Design and Brand to refine and evolve Builder.io’s brand identity, ensuring it resonates with enterprise clients, developers, and engineers across all channels.

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial design leader with a strong visual design, marketing and branding background who can enhance our brand’s impact while driving strategic growth. This role requires a blend of creative excellence, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to refine Builder.io’s visual and brand presence in alignment with our key audiences.

As a key leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen Builder.io’s brand positioning, craft compelling design narratives tailored to technical and enterprise audiences, and support high-impact integrated campaigns that drive awareness and engagement. You’ll drive the brand’s creative vision while ensuring that every design and marketing initiative aligns with business objectives and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Refine and evolve Builder.io’s brand identity – Strengthen brand strategy, visual identity, and messaging to resonate with enterprise clients, developers, and engineers.
  • Oversee marketing design and creative execution – Ensure all marketing campaigns, product launches, and external communications maintain a professional and compelling brand presence tailored to technical and enterprise audiences.
  • Champion brand consistency and integrity – Own Builder.io’s brand guidelines, ensuring a clear and consistent brand voice across all marketing and communication efforts.
  • Support Marketing by developing and executing targeted brand campaigns – Create high-impact campaigns that drive awareness and engagement among enterprise clients and developer communities, leveraging digital, social, PR, partnerships, and influencer marketing.
  • Translate research and insights into audience-driven brand strategies – Utilize customer insights, competitive analysis, and market trends to refine and tailor branding initiatives that engage technical and corporate audiences.
  • Foster a strong internal brand culture – Partner with Developer Advocacy, Communications, People, Partnerships, and Customer Success teams to ensure brand consistency and alignment with audience needs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing creative team – Inspire and manage a team of internal and external design and marketing professionals to produce high-quality creative work that meets strategic goals and resonates with technical and corporate audiences.
  • Define and track key brand performance metrics – Establish clear KPIs to measure brand health, awareness, and engagement, iterating strategies for continuous improvement.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Have 10+ years of experience leading design, branding, and marketing efforts.
  • Have a proven track record of evolving brand architecture and design systems to appeal to enterprise and developer audiences.
  • Are a hands-on leader who can execute creative work while also building and mentoring a high-performing team.
  • Can seamlessly bridge creative vision with marketing strategy, ensuring compelling and effective brand storytelling for technical and corporate stakeholders.
  • Are adept at turning customer insights and data into actionable brand strategies that drive engagement and business growth.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and are comfortable navigating ambiguity.

The items above are a starting point for a conversation, not a hard list of requirements. If this role excites you, we hope you will apply!

The estimated total compensation for the Head of Design and Creative is $190,000 - $240,000 USD, which includes base salary and annual bonus. The salary range may vary for candidates depending on location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors discovered during the interview process, including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Mental health days. We encourage you to take at least one per quarter to recharge

About Builder.io:

Builder.io is pioneering the space between design and development, creating a new category of Visual Development Platform that transforms how teams build digital products.

Our Visual Copilot technology bridges the gap between Figma designs and production code, enabling teams to build interactive features using natural language while working with their actual code, data, and APIs. Alongside our code generation capabilities, our CMS empowers organizations to skip code generation altogether and publish updates to any live site or app in a couple clicks.

Trusted by leading mid-market to enterprise-level companies like JCrew, Vimeo, and Anheuser Busch, we're focused on eliminating the traditional bottlenecks between design, development, and content management.

Builder.io is committed to growing an inclusive and diverse team. We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran, genetic information, marital status or any other legally protected status.
