We are looking for a technical, growth-minded Lead Product Manager to join our Data Product Team at CDK. This role is a perfect blend of strategy and execution and will lead the charge in building and delivering the widest breadth of API solutions in the automotive industry. In this role, you’ll own a high-growth area, collaborate with product and engineering leadership on vision, define the portfolio and requirements to fulfill that vision, and collaborate with other product development teams to lead an API-first operating model You should enjoy working with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their needs and be passionate about developing innovative solutions for their problems. In partnership with Engineering, you’ll build a holistic portfolio of APIs across our ecosystem of products through quick iteration and data-driven experimentation. You will also own the area within Fortellis to deliver these APIs to the market. To make it all happen, you’ll possess a mix of business and tech-savviness plus the drive to make the product vision a reality. 

 

Position Responsibilities 

 

  • Drive product vision and strategy for our various customer segments that includes the developer community  

  • Build strong partnerships with other product and cross-functional teams to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our APIs   

  • Develop API Product Strategy and roadmaps for existing customers and new partners 

  • Conduct research and analysis to deeply understand our customers’ needs to ensure success of our product offerings 

  • Partner with engineering to deliver API solutions to the market that exceed their expectations 

  • Implement and evangelize an API intake form and tracker so stakeholders are updated about progress 

  • Key decision-maker for organization-wide API availability to the market to support revenue growth 

  • Understand technical, legal, and privacy constraints in the market that impacts your product portfolio 

  • Define and measure outcomes and OKRs 

  • Closely partner with Product Marketing to successfully launch APIs to the market 

  • Be a critical voice in the CDK API governance process 

  • Define product requirements and work with UX and engineering to build and deliver solutions in the Fortellis platform 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications & Experience: 

 

  • 8+ years of product management experience working in SaaS businesses 

  • Preferred Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field 

  • 5+ years of experience building proprietary and standards-based APIs, with a deep understanding of API calls, gateway design, documentation, and development 

  • Expert in modern API architecture and integrations into ecosystems of disparate systems 

  • Proven ability to develop API strategies, build roadmaps, and ship product 

  • Proven track record of working with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver software solutions that are scalable and have a product-market fit 

  • Familiar with Product-led philosophies and Pragmatic Marketing framework 

  • Foundational understanding of data privacy, enterprise security and compliance requirements 

  • Passion for collaboration and solving complex technical problems with other people 

  • Proven ability to influence and drive strategy across a large organization and multiple stakeholders 

  • A sense of pride and personal accountability for end-to-end quality and the user experience 

  • Exceptionally clear and concise written and verbal communication 

  • Nimble and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment 

  • Travel up to 25% of time 

Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000

CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, certifications, and work location.  The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.We offer Medical, dental, and vision benefits in addition to:
