Start the Best Work of Your Career at Boom

At Boom, we don’t inherit factories — we build them. From empty concrete floors to fully operational aerospace facilities humming with hardware, testing, and early production, our operations team turns vision into reality.

This role is about standing things up from scratch. You’ll take partially built or raw spaces and transform them into safe, compliant, production-ready facilities that enable engineers and technicians to move fast and build real hardware. If you love ownership, ambiguity, and seeing physical progress every week, this is the role where your impact will be impossible to miss.

You won’t be managing from a distance. You’ll be on the floor, solving problems in real time, coordinating across engineering, facilities, safety, quality, and vendors — and ensuring nothing about our facilities becomes the bottleneck.

Role Overview

  • Lead the operational stand-up of new aerospace facilities, from empty or partially built space to fully operational manufacturing, assembly, and test environments
  • Translate engineering and production needs into facility requirements including layouts, utilities, material flow, and safety systems
  • Own equipment installation, commissioning, and operational readiness through first use
  • Partner with Facilities, IT, Safety, Quality, and external vendors to bring spaces online on schedule
  • Build and execute facility readiness plans aligned to program milestones
  • Define and implement early operational systems: SOPs, material flow, tool control, traceability, and shop-floor KPIs
  • Ensure facilities and operations meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements (OSHA, NFPA, AS9100, ITAR, AHJ)
  • Support early production, prototype builds, and test campaigns while identifying and removing operational constraints
  • Build and lead small operations teams; manage contractors, vendors, and facility-related budgets
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardize scalable solutions as operations grow

The Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities, Operations, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or industrial startup environments
  • Proven experience standing up manufacturing, assembly, or test facilities
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure including power, utilities, HVAC, and safety systems
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with real compliance requirements
  • Comfortable balancing urgency with discipline — moving fast without cutting corners
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ambition, complemented by effective collaboration skills in a team setting
  • Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with propulsion systems, engine test environments, or complex aerospace manufacturing
  • Hands-on familiarity with permitting and AHJ coordination
  • Experience in greenfield or startup facility builds
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement background
  • Experience implementing early ERP/MRP or production tracking systems
  • A strong bias toward action and ownership

Compensation

The Base Salary Range for this position is $132,000 - $167,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. ITAR Requirement
