SMX is seeking a Power Platform Developer who will directly support the Secretary of the Air Force / Office of Competitive Activities (SAF/OC), Business Operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform products: Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate among others. This developer will work with program management, senior leadership (SES), contracts personnel, senior technical personnel, and other functional support organizations to create and support business applications, reports, and workflows with a Power Platform solution. This role will span all areas of technology delivery including but not limited to; requirements gathering, solution design and development, testing and support.

We are looking for a talented individual who is proactive in problem-solving, who can identify areas of opportunity and will apply technology to generate measurable positive outcomes, and who has experience building solutions leveraging Microsoft’s Power Platform.

To succeed in this position, a successful candidate must have an analytical and technical way of thinking, be able to explain concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and enjoy expanding one’s skillset as new technology presents itself to continue to deliver better to the organization and our clients.

A typical day of a Power Platform Developer involves understanding client’s business needs and its challenges, functionally outlining a solution, developing that solution using Power Platform products, and leading product/platform training sessions to stakeholders.

This position requires a DoD Security Clearance – Secret or above, which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and translate business requirements into well-architected solutions using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Collaborate and engage with SMEs and Domain experts to gain a full understanding of business needs and requirements for every client
  • Develop and support custom solutions and interfaces using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and RPA
  • Design end-to-end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing using low and no code solutions
  • Utilize connectors, design Power BI reports and dashboards, build Power Apps and portals, and leverage Power Automate to create business process flows
  • Design and create database models
  • Participate/Lead technical design sessions; collect, analyze, identify, and document functional requirements that meet the client’s needs
  • Embed Power Platform components in Teams, SharePoint, web applications, and more
  • Govern, address, and remediate security vulnerability findings in Power Platform
  • Install and configure data gateways
  • Develop Azure logic apps and Azure functions to extend Power Platform capabilities
  • Perform unit testing and resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Document and demonstrate solutions through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, user guides, and more
  • Be imaginative, enthusiastic, and courageous; show high creativity and initiative and deliver new approaches to solutions

Required Skills/Experience

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse
  • Knowledge of Dataverse tables and their structure, relationships, and usage
  • Experience with model-driven apps in Power Apps, including designing, building, and customizing these apps
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code development principles and practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions using Power Platform tools
  • Basic understanding of data modeling and database design
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining documentation, frameworks, and strategies as they relate to Power Platform Products
  • Background in data warehouse design (dimensional modeling) and data mining
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and deliver quality results
  • Ability to train/educate non-technical individuals on Power Platform Products
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in both large and small audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with Microsoft Power Platform Products
  • Hands-on experience and strong fluency in: Canvas Apps, Dataverse, Model-Driven Apps, Power Automate, RPA, Cloud and Data Flows, and Power BI
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Desired Power Platform Fundamentals Certification
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, MIS, Engineering, or equivalent experience

$93,800$156,400 USD
