The Role

The Project Operations Specialist is a key member of the Solution Delivery PMO team.  Responsible for independently leading and conducting detailed planning of newly signed implementation projects (project intake) and is key in providing a seamless initial “front of house experience” for GHX customers.  The Project Operations Specialist works closely with customers and internal teams to stand up projects whose scope is centered on the automation of supply chain processes for the healthcare industry.  

The Project Operations Specialist position requires initiative and thoroughness to support multiple projects independently, and the professionalism to effectively collaborate across varying levels of GHX. Highly detail oriented with strong planning, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between Sales and Solution Delivery to ensure Statements of Work (SOWs) are correctly and completely submitted, routed, and fulfilled.
  • Conduct detailed planning for incoming projects to ensure scope is properly defined in the GHX SOW and other supporting documentation. Ensure technical requirements for the implementation are adequately documented.
  • Create project initiation documentation in Salesforce.com to ensure a high quality, seamless transition of work to the assigned Project Manager. This includes creating project schedules from templates, setting project timelines, and making resource allocations.
  • Interface with customers to ensure their infrastructure and resources are readied to accept the solutions to be implemented.
  • Remain in contact with the customer as the Solution Delivery single point of contact until a Project Manager is assigned.
  • Lead and facilitate the management of customer maintenance activities.
  • Perform capacity analysis to determine availability and proposed project start timing. Assists in the proactive identification of capacity issues, makes recommendations, and takes action to mitigate.
  • Escalate scope or coordination issues that cannot be resolved or that may impact client satisfaction.
  • Play a key role in maintaining documentation.
  • Analyze reports to assist in identifying issues requiring attention.
  • Understand objectives to work independently and deliver timely results.
  • Ability to contribute different thoughts, ideas and viewpoints that lead to greater innovation on projects and cross-functional collaborative efforts. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 1+ years Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with CRMs (Salesforce, is our primary system).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including patience, flexibility, consideration, discretion, tact, confidence, and effectiveness in dealing with people.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possesses the requisite integration and implementation knowledge to ask the right questions at any phase of the project intake process in order to anticipate and mitigate technical or resource challenges.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; good organization and excellent listening skills.
  • Interested in standardization and process improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.


Estimated salary range: $57,000 - $71,200

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
