We are currently seeking a highly driven Research Analyst IIto join our Power & Renewables Product team in Houston, TX, Austin, TX, Denver, CO or Calgary, AB, Canada. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.
The Research Analyst II is responsible for owning datasets, leading research initiatives, and acting as a resource for clients. Their duties include data collection and processing, broad data cleaning, and collaborating with other teams on large projects. This position reports to a Research Team Lead with an opportunity to advance in your career as a subject matter expert.
Performance Objectives

  • This position involves direct ownership of datasets and research initiatives.
  • This role is execution-focused and involves working with members of the Research team to strategize broader improvements to data collection, in addition to leading research and data cleanup initiatives. Those initiatives can include vetting and analyzing new datasets for integration with the tool, cleaning up data discrepancies at scale across the platform.
  • Utilizing broad resources to capture more data and working with engineering, data science, and product teams to carry out the results of these projects effectively.
  • Addresses client questions and inquiries by crafting clear, impactful client-facing content that helps explain new features or how to leverage our platform's capabilities more effectively.
  • Research Analyst II is responsible for training new hires and getting them comfortable with our operational procedures.


Competitive Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to convey information effectively in both written and verbal formats to diverse audiences.
  • Creates meaningful metrics to assess project performance and summarize project findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent technical, analytical and communication skills.
  • High energy level, self-motivated, and critical problem solving.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and others.
  • Beginner-to-intermediate SQL understanding (joins, subqueries, count, etc.).
  • Programming languages such as R or Python are a plus.
  • Take ownership of research projects and lead them to completion with help of the team.
  • Assist with training new hires.
  • Mid-level understanding of the power generation and distribution industry.
  • Supervision of this role is minimal for typical day-to-day work; a person in this role is trusted to deliver on daily/weekly/monthly responsibilities effectively.
  • For more complex projects, this person will work more closely with senior team members.


This role is eligible for: Variable Compensation
Salary Range: $67,000 - $72,000 + bonus
