Job Description
Strategy Development:

  • Define the strategic direction for the data architecture that will enable scalable, efficient, and secure data access for business teams to use for self-service reporting and executive dashboards.
  • Establish a data warehouse strategy, designing how teams may find, access and query tables to build downstream reports.


Data Architecture and Modeling Expertise:

  • Provide technical leadership in data modeling best practices, standards, and methodologies to ensure the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance data models.
  • Lead the migration of data assets to Snowflake, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations
  • Act as the data modeling SME (Subject Matter Expert) for cross-functional strategic projects, consulting with project teams to propose and deliver effective solutions.
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.


Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Engage with business function stakeholders to understand their data needs and recommend solutions that will enhance their reporting and decision-making
  • Communicate complex data modeling concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Closely partner with data integration, reporting and governance teams to ensure clear communication, alignment on handoffs and consistent practices.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data modelers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Establish and communicate clear team priorities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify training and development needs, facilitating professional growth opportunities.


Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data modeling projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Monitor and communicate project progress to leadership and stakeholders, adjusting as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead team's triage, prioritization and sprint planning processes, establishing priorities, gathering business requirements, and assigning out work
  • Optimize internal processes and tools to enable timely and successful project execution.


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of Snowflake required.
  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience, with at least 3 years' experience managing and developing high-performing teams, with an emphasis on empowering, coaching, and developing direct reports.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across various business functions and at varying levels.
  • Advanced understanding of data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, and reporting concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL programming and database management systems.
  • Excellent project management skills with a successful track record in delivering data projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to align data modeling efforts with business goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong emphasis on collaboration across teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Advanced Snowflake certification preferred
  • Experience with DBT required
  • Experience with GitHub, Python, Fivetran, Power BI preferred.
  • Experience with a Snowflake migration is a plus
  • Experience with enabling self service reporting is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of NetSuite, Salesforce, and Dell Boomi.

DOE, salary $150K - $180K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
