Job Summary
As Senior Product Manager at FusionAuth, you'll drive the evolution of our authentication platform by creating detailed feature definitions and maintaining a focused product roadmap. Your primary mission will be to enhance engineering team efficiency through precise requirements definition and thoughtful prioritization. Success in this role means delivering clear, actionable feature specifications that reduce engineering questions and rework, while maintaining a strategic roadmap that keeps development focused on the most impactful initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive, detailed feature definitions that give engineering teams everything they need to build efficiently and accurately
- Develop and maintain a focused quarterly roadmap with 2-3 major initiatives per quarter
- Partner with customer success teams to gather insights while maintaining primary focus on translating these insights into clear requirements
- Define and document precise success criteria for each feature before development begins
- Prioritize features and requirements with clear rationale that helps engineering teams understand the "why" behind decisions
- Monitor and improve key metrics including engineering cycle time and product quality
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are fully understood and implementation questions are addressed early
- Maintain technical documentation that supports efficient development and clear communication
- Lead product discovery efforts through targeted customer interviews and market analysis
- Work with sales and marketing to ensure product value is effectively communicated
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, with proven track record of writing detailed feature requirements
- Strong technical background with (optional) understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML)
- Experience with API design and security best practices
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain focused roadmaps with clear prioritization
- Previous experience in identity and access management (IAM) or customer identity and access management (CIAM) preferred

Compensation
- $120k - 170k expected base salary range*
