Position Summary:

We are seeking a software engineer for a unique job opportunity working on ROC’s research and development team in support of our computer vision and machine learning algorithm developers. The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop advanced user interfaces that empower our team of data annotators to efficiently label our extensive image and video datasets. However, team members often take on multiple responsibilities and the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a wide range of software and data engineering initiatives. Although this role has a stronger focus on front-end development, you will gradually build expertise in data development to support the creation of artificial intelligence algorithms (computer vision and machine learning). Additionally, you will have opportunities to enhance your skills in software engineering, database management, and DevOps best practices. This role may at times require travel though the significant majority of work performed in the Denver area.

Qualifications:

  • Education
    • B.S. or greater in Computer Science 
  • Strong interpersonal communication
  • Task oriented, problem solver
  • Technical Skills (not all required)
    • Software Languages: JavaScript (preferably Vue framework), HTML/CSS, Python, SQL, C/C++
    • Development of production-ready web applications beyond the scope of academic projects
    • Team-based software development; collaboration in agile environments
    • Git (version control)
    • Experience in large-scale data management using relational DB’s, cloud storage, and local storage
    • Experience in a DevOps environment
    • Understanding of computer vision, statistical pattern recognition, and machine learning algorithms

Experience:

  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience

If you are hired for this role we expect you to regularly work from the office in order to collaborate with your team, however ROC’s work culture is non-rigid and you will be able to work from home or remote at times as well.
