Brown & Brown Insurance has an exciting opportunity available for a Staff Accountant supporting our team in Greenwood Village, CO!
The Staff Accountant will perform operational, transactional and technical accounting activities in accordance with established policy, procedures, and objectives. Responsible for adherence to quality control standards – both corporate and industry directed
How You Will Contribute
- Conduct account reconciliations, analysis, and prepare journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Complete monthly aged accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close process and reporting.
- Preparation of documents for submission, as required by established controls.
- Assist with corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
- Cross-trained in accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations, illness, or any other absence.
- Review and process monthly bordereaux for London Carriers.
- Analyzes PIPS invoicing issues and resolves with the appropriate teammates.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3 - 4+ years of related experience
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (excel, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.)
- Deadline-oriented and excellent time managements skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Insurance industry experience (preferred)
- Knowledge in the month-end close process (preferred)
- Experience working in Workday software (preferred)
Pay Range
$60,000 - $75,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
