Job Summary

 As our State Filings Specialist at Homeowners of America (“HOA,” a Porch Company), you will hold a pivotal role in being the liaison between the organization and the state insurance departments. We are seeking an ideal candidate with experience in property and casualty insurance, focusing on filings. This position requires proficiency in various filing areas including regulatory relationship management, interpretation of laws, policy development, and risk mitigation strategies.

You will report directly to VP of Strategy and Insurance Product. Additionally, you will have opportunities to engage with the broader HOA insurance team and the broader Porch group.

What You Will Do As A State Filings Specialist  

  • Collaborate with members of Insurance Product, Actuarial, Compliance, and Underwriting to execute the filing pipeline from end-to-end
  • Work closely with the business and actuarial teams to create and update filing documents for rate, rule and forms for submissions
  • Maintain accurate and accessible records in relation to those filings
  • Review and address filing objectives to achieve approval
  • Provide support for market conduct examinations including in responding to inquiries
  • Lead in working with the product managers and actuarial department to prepare and submit loss costs, rules, and forms filings to insurance regulators
  • Manage communication and negotiation of filings with State in a manner that will result in timely approval of company products
  • Writes explanatory memos and Orders for final review and approval by the Insurance Commissioner
  • Assist the product and actuarial teams with addressing obstacles and providing alternatives in the filing process
  • Review regulatory publications for impact on company filings and product offerings
  • Document and maintain filing records in multiple systems in SERFF
  • Introduce scalable processes to meet ambitious goals
  • Occasional travel to the Dallas Fort Worth office may be required, 2- 4 times per year for a duration of 2-4 days each time

What You Will Bring As A State Filings Specialist

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of state filing, regulatory compliance, or relevant insurance industry experience
  • 8+ years professional insurance experience
  • Solid understanding of SERFF
  • Strong familiarity with state insurance laws and regulations
  • Superior organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member 

Pay Range*: $106,500.00 - $149,100.00 annually 

*Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.  
 
Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
