The State Strategy Manager will play a key role in supporting Curriculum Associates’ strategic growth, overseeing a portfolio of high-priority states within the company’s plan. This individual will define regional growth strategies across products and customer segments, drive go-to-market planning and execution, and identify key opportunities and investment areas for the organization.

In this newly created role, the State Strategy Manager will shape and build a new division focused on state-level strategy, driving feedback, continuous improvement, and program management. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly contribute to the company’s growth and expand CA’s impact in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment.

The Impact You’ll Have:

  • Define 1-3 year growth strategies for assigned state portfolio, utilizing data, cross-functional insights, and qualitative knowledge of state landscapes and market dynamics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Sales, Service, and Government Relations to ensure that growth levers are integrated into resourcing and planning efforts (e.g., roadmaps, team allocations, capacity planning).

  • Drive execution of state growth plans, offering high-level project management, and ensuring clear and regular communication with stakeholders.

  • Develop business cases and facilitate leadership discussions to make state-specific investment decisions.

  • Act as the “go-to” person for your assigned state portfolio, linking cross-functional teams and providing adaptable, disciplined approaches to solving key challenges.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, policy and legislative changes, and key issues impacting educators, students, and families within your states.

  • Contribute to building a scalable system of support for state-level strategy, including top-down data analysis, communication tools, project management processes, best practices, and input into priority areas for broader organizational investment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Industry Experience: Familiarity with K-12 education technology, curriculum, and instruction landscapes.

  • Strategic & Analytical Skills: Strong strategic thinking, structured problem-solving, and business acumen, with a track record of using data to inform decisions and drive outcomes.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and effectively communicate and influence across a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing projects and driving strategy to outcomes, balancing adaptability with rigor.

  • Passion for Education: Enthusiasm for Curriculum Associates’ mission to improve student outcomes in K-12 classrooms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or a related quantitative field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy, business operations, product or program management; experience in K-12 education (in schools, districts, policy & research, or vendor environments) is highly preferred.

  • This is a remote role, with the option for hybrid work in the greater Boston area. Travel is required for less than 20% of the time, including occasional visits to Billerica, MA, and customer sites/events.

Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $69,250 - $118,250. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case.
