Job Location: Lake Oswego, OR

We’re looking for a creative contributor for our Information Experience team to help design and develop the next generation of our integrated product learning solutions. Bonus points for experience in the construction industry helping construction companies and users (financials and construction management) with their digital and data transformation and helping users succeed through training and mentoring. Additionally, our teams contribute to modernizing the overall learning experience frameworks and content for platform solutions used across the company and products.

What You Will Do

  • Develop user-centered learning content that meets user goals with Trimble Viewpoint products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members from Engineering, Product Management, Support, Training, Professional Services, and Marketing to design ideal customer learning experiences

  • Assist in migrating content to our next generation content management system to provide a consistent and unified Help experience. We’ll train you to develop your skills in this area to meet team goals. Want to learn about DITA/XML and extend your writing superpowers? We got you. 

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, rhetoric, journalism, education, or equivalent experience developing successful user-centered learning solutions and curriculum through multi-media, particularly video tutorials.  

  • Ability to write high-quality, personable content that meets target user needs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret and present technical information effectively to a variety of audiences.

  • Interest in learning modern Help authoring tools.

  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating with teams and other stakeholders.

  • Highly creative, resourceful, quick learner dedicated to finding new and better ways to solve user problems.

  • Works well independently in a fast-paced environment.

Special Attention Given to Candidates with:

  • Familiarity with developing video learning content.

  • Experience with project management, accounting software, or construction industry.

  • Knowledge of Agile software development and lean design principles.

  • Experience with DITA/XML content authoring and usage of content management systems.

About Your Location

The Lake Oswego, Oregon Trimble office supports a variety of projects and works as a center of excellence hub for user experience design and information experience design with key mentoring and networking opportunities for those that work out of that office. 

The Information Experience (Technical Writing) Intern will primarily support the Construction Management Solutions products and products and also work on experiences that may benefit all of Trimble and the industries that it serves, working collaboratively across teams.
