The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Salary Range:

$62,200.00 - $112,000.00

Purpose Statement:  The Trade Analyst II will assist local, regional and global trade teams with import and export compliance activities and have a focus on Tariff Classification. This role will support operational excellence in Custom and Trade Compliance to ensure the timely and compliant flow of goods and technology. The role will support the business to create compliant customer solutions for existing and new customers. This individual will contribute to enhance the governance of the Trade Compliance function.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Expert in US (HTSUS) & MX (TIGIE) Tariff Classification and US Export Controls: A deep understanding of General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), Section/Chapter Notes, Explanatory Notes, and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is essential.
  • Proficient in Applying Customs & Export Control Guidance:  The ability to interpret and utilize CROSS rulings, Informed Compliance Publications (and equivalent MX resources), and the Commerce Control List (CCL) is required.
  • Strong Analytical Skills with Classification Rationale: Can thoroughly analyze products for both tariff and export control classifications, clearly documenting the reasoning, including potential Military (MIL) classification considerations.
  • Keeps Current on US & MX Trade and Export Regulations: Proactively monitors changes in tariff schedules, customs regulations, export control rules (including potential MIL implications), and applies them to classification practices.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience.

Other Qualifications:  

  • Intermediate Computer Skills.
  • Intermediate Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills.
  • Intermediate Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Intermediate Google Workspace or MS Office Skills Specifically (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access).
  • General office equipment and materials.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Less than 40%
