About Wurl, LLC.

At Wurl, our mission is to create innovative technologies and services that help accelerate the shift to streaming. At our core, we are innovators focused on driving the streaming industry forward with technologies that help connect viewers to the right content and ads. Our technology and data-driven solutions help companies reach new audiences, engage high-value viewers, and ultimately increase their revenue.

We invest in providing a culture that fosters passion, drives excellence, and encourages collaboration to drive innovation. Wurl is a fully-remote company that has been globally recognized for our people and technology, having been named a Great Place to Work by Fortune in 2022, 2023, and 2024; an Ad Tech Company of the Year finalist by the UK Business Tech Awards in 2023; a BIG Innovation Awards winner in 2024 and 2025; and the “Innovation in Advertising” winner by the StreamTV Awards in 2024.

UX/UI Expert (Contract):

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Expert to help define and design the user interface and experience for our latest product, a cutting-edge platform that recommends short-form content based on user interests. Wurl needs to create an intuitive, visually engaging, and user-friendly interface that drives user engagement, content discovery and interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • User Experience Design:
    • Channel navigation.
    • User interactions with a new platform that brings digital-native experiences to streaming TV (skipping, replaying, or deep-linking to FAST channels).
    • Data reporting dashboards on engagement and viewing metrics
    • Design intuitive user flows across platforms (TV, web, and mobile).
    • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups for features like:
    • Ensure seamless integration with TV platform remote controls.
  • User Interface Design:
    • Create a visually cohesive interface that highlights genres (e.g., Comedy, Drama, Sports) and short-form content channels.
    • Define overlay designs for our new product, incorporating channel-branded logos and call-to-action elements.
    • Ensure consistent branding across ad-hoc and FAST channels.
  • Collaborate with Developers:
    • Work with product managers and developers to implement our new products API and UX requirements on TV platforms.
    • Translate technical requirements into actionable design specifications.
  • User Testing and Feedback:
    • Conduct usability testing to refine user interactions with short-form content playback behavior, including skip/replay actions and indefinite looping.
    • Iterate on designs based on analytics, user behavior, and feedback.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Proven track record in UI/UX design, preferably for media streaming platforms or content recommendation systems with direct-to-consumer experience.
    • Experience designing for TV platforms, remote control navigation, or similar interfaces is a strong plus.
    • Experience with short form content exploration is a strong plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
    • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and accessibility standards.
    • Ability to create high-fidelity prototypes and collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with AI-driven personalization and content recommendation interfaces.
    • Understanding of video content ecosystems, including FAST channels and short-form video behavior.

Based on market data and other factors, our pay range is $50/hr-$70/hr.
