JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing leadership and direction to Network Technology Group teams responsible for developing technology standards for all existing and future HFC/FTTx access networks across the company's footprint. Create a consistent roadmap to ensure stable service delivery that aligns with company initiatives and expectations in the access network. Evaluate new vendor advanced plant technologies, architectures and develop strategic initiatives to support increased bandwidth capacities to further enhance advanced product offerings. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication with Field Operations, Inside Plant and Design groups to ensure consistency of roadmap. Core competencies include knowledge of OSP Networks, Design, GIS initiatives, and Optical technologies.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the overall plant engineering standards and roadmaps to further the company's Access Network.
- Provide direction and recommendations for fiber use policies, including provisioning fiber, advanced architectures with FTTH, and fiber enhancement projects.
- Provide direction and recommendations to enhance the accessibility and accuracy of mapping for the OSP network.
- Develop a cost-effective roadmap plan to institute the selected design platform to support near and long-term strategic needs.
- Evaluate design platforms and recommend the most cost-effective standard design platform to best enable the company to manage our fiber networks and circuits, accurately quantify our plant miles and passings.
- Evaluate and consult with senior management regarding strategic planning of rebuilds, system extensions and network deployment.
- Work with Field Engineering to ensure compliance with corporate engineering standards, policies and procedures.
- Work with Field Operations leadership to evaluate existing plant architectures and develop strategic initiatives that supports advanced product offerings.
- Participate in budget and forecasting planning and manage departmental expenses.
- Identify engineering opportunities and inspire change and initiate ideas.
- Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of company products and services
- Advanced Knowledge of HFC, Outside Plant, Advanced Video, and IP Networks
- Owned overall plant engineering standards and roadmaps for an operator's Access Network
- Ability to effectively manage large and complex projects simultaneously
- Strong analytic & organizational skills coupled with effective problem solving & decision making
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Experience leading other other's at the executive level
- Knowledge of cable HFC design platforms
- Knowledge of cable fiber design systems

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience

The base pay for this position generally is between
$174,300.00 and $290,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
